Amagerforbrænding produces electricity and district heating by incinerating waste from five capital municipalities. In 2010, we received more than 400.000 tons of waste. This is ten percent of all waste incinated in Denmark. The waste consists of:
The energy from the incineration proces supplies 120.000 households with district heating and around 50.000 households with electricity annually. The utilisation of the energy in the waste is as high af 86 % at Amagerforbrænding.
